My research is focused mainly on undestanding of fish spatio-temporal distribution, fish behaviour and biology of threatened fish species. During my carrier, I have used several different hydroacoustic systems (Simrad, Biosonic, DIDSON multi-beam sonar) and post-processing software (Sonar 5, Echoview) in combination with GIS and modelling. I also participated in scientific research of many freshwater ecosystems in Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, China and Kenya. I'm author or co-author of > 40 scientific papers in journals with IF, methodologies and book chapters, and editor of the Red List of Lampreys and Fishes of the Czech Republic. 12. 11. 1981, Příbram, Czech Republic 2013 – Philosophy Doctor (Ph.D.) in Zoology, Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (USB), (Spatial distribution of fish in reservoirs and lakes, supervisor: Prof. Jan Kubečka) 2013 – Rerum Naturalium Doctor (RNDr.) Faculty of Science, USB (Spatial distribution of fish in Lake Turkana, Kenya) 2007 – MSc. in Zoology, Faculty of Science, USB (Ontogeny of coloration patterns in Neotropical cichlids of the Tribe Heroini (TELEOSTEI: CICHLIDAE: CICHLASOMATINAE) supervisor: Dr. Jindřich Novák) 2003 – BSc. in Zoology, Faculty of Science, USB (Phylogenetic Interpretation of Ontogeny Pigmentation Patterns in Central American Cichlids, supervisor: Dr. Jindřich Novák) since 2017 – Institute of Hydrobiology, Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, České Budějovice, Department of Fish and Zooplankton Ecology, (full-time) since 2013 – 2017 postdoctoral fellow at Department of Fish and Zooplankton Ecology, Institute of Hydrobiology BC CAS (full-time) since 2011 – coordinator of fish monitoring according Habitat Directive 92/43EHS at Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic, Prague (part-time) 2007-2013 – junior-researcher at the Department of Plankton and Fish Ecology, Institute of Hydrobiology BC CAS Web of Science ResearcherID A-7978-2014 2017-20 – Development of technical measure for protection of natural riverine fish stock against massive migration of undesirable fish species from Lipno Reservoir as encouragement of population of brown trout and freshwater pearl mussel Margaritifera margaritifera (TAČR Epsilon; PI) 2017-20 – Floating green islands, a perspective alterntive for improvement of ecological potential and support of littoral habitats in water reservoirs (TAČR Epsilon; team member) 2016-2020 – Establishing the sustainability of fish farming on Lake Balaton by examining the reconstruction of fish fauna and the utilization of the food base using basic and applied research methods (European Regional Development Fund, Hungary | cooperation) 2015-2017 – Changes in fish isotopic signals: linking land use and reservoir food webs (Grant Agency of the Czech Republic) awarded to Dr. Mojmír Vašek 2014-2017 – Participation in the project “Structuring effect of submerged macrophytes on trophic relationships and distribution of fish in deep lakes (MacFish)” (Czech-Norwegian Research Programme) awarded to Dr. Jiří Peterka 2014-2015 – “Living together of man and pearl mussel in Vltava river march” (The operational Programme Environment).
