Current research aims: photochemical degradation of DOM, influence of solar radiation on metals speciation, characterization of DOM. Ph.D. - 2002, Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague; Employment - Currently employed at the Biology Centre of the ASCR, v.v.i., Institute of Hydrobiology; 2007-2010 Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada as a postdoctoral researcher; 2005-2006 University of Maine, Orono, U.S.A. - Fulbright-Masaryk Scholarship. Recent and current activities: Participation in the NSERC (Canada) projects (“Dissolved organic matter in aquatic systems: factors affecting its role in greenhouse gas formation”; “The effects of multiple stressors on the biogeochemistry of lakes and catchments”). Principal investigator of the GACR projects “Effects of solar radiation on biogeochemical cycling of nutrients and metals in surface waters” (P503/12/0781), "The effect of solar light on key members of freshwater Betaproteobacteria" (15-09721S), "Life on the edge: Biogeochemical factors driving transition from lotic to lentic microbial community in headwaters" (19-00113S).
