How plants defend against light stress?
Chloroplasts behave like solar powerplant of plant cell - the energy of Sun transform to “fuel” (sacharids) needed for plant to life. Likewise classiccal powerplant, there are also some unintended toxic side products causing damage which needs to be repared continuously. Study published in the PNAS journal recovered, that light stress induces structural changes in chloroplasts improving the speed of repair processes. By this way, chloroplasts can continue to store the energy of Sun with similar efficiency thus avoiding possible constraints, damage, or even the death of plant.
