Nursery MOTÝL - Butterfly                  

The Biology Centre of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic, public research institute, has over 500 employees, with strong representation of young research workers under 34. An even larger group of doctoral students are employed at the BC part-time, the number of which averages around 110 people. These young people represent a major potential for further development of research work at BC. They are therefore paid increased attention at the BC sites with regard to their professional development. Science and research represent a very specific branch of human activity that requires continuity of work. Young families and above all young female doctoral students and research workers are faced with the issue of finding the right balance between their private and professional life in order not to miss the latest developments of their profession. The provision of a nursery for their children is one of the key aspects in the creation of equal opportunities for both men and women at BC.

The nursery has been allocated adequate space in the dormitory situated in the common campus of the Biology Centre and the University of South Bohemia.

The Butterfly Nursery MOTÝL at the Biology Centre has been in operation since 1 November 2013 and has a capacity for 12 children, of which 8 places are intended for children of employees of the Biology Centre, and 4 places are for children of employees at the University of South Bohemia.
